Red Cat Bakery

Savory or sweet? Whole wheat, write or rye? Redcat Bakery delivers European crafted baked goods in the tradition of their culture.

Tourists and locals visit their bakery north of Goderich or find them at local farmer’s markets to take home an assortment of Belgian chocolate, hot cross, cranberry sweet buns, or a Sunday braid. If your tastes favour the savory, try Redcat’s cheese buns, crusty sticks, giant pretzels, or focaccia bread.

“Preserve the land and the air and the rivers for your children’s children and love it as we loved it. The earth does not belong to us, we belong to the earth.”

The Redcat family business began the family immigrated to the shores of Lake Huron in 2008. The family is inspired by living in harmony with the four elements, earth, fire, water, and air.

Baking traditional and European styled bread all involving fermentation use a piece of inherited sourdough culture, which is then baked by the flame of a brick oven.

Some of Redcat’s most loved whet-free breads, which undergo the longest fermentation process include the Danish Vial, Russian Rye, and Ukrainian blessing.
